Unfortunately, I've had more than my share of MRI scans over the past 11 years here in the Vegas Valley. Fortunately, the vast majority have been at Desert Radiology facilities. Since I live in Boulder City, I always used the facility previously located on Pecos which no longer exists. The location closest to me is now this one on Horizon Ridge & Coronado.
When I arrived on Wednesday at 4:45 for two MRI scans, I was taken back to the area where they are done to find out there was a mixup in the order and I'd have to reschedule. Theresa, the MRI tech was incredibly helpful, understanding I was in a lot of pain and explaining what needed to be done as well as looking at her schedule and telling me to come back on Friday and she'd take care of getting everything done as was needed. Her communication and compassion were stellar and she was good to her word and made them happen today without a hitch. I wouldn't ever go anywhere else for an MRI since their protocol is the best as is their equipment and staff. Theresa put a helmet on me for the brain MRI which makes it so much easier because it doesn't feel as if your claustrophobia is going to get the best of you since it has a mirror which blocks your view of the top of the tube. She also gave me headphones to listen to music throughout the hour plus in the tube. Theresa is definitely a huge asset to this facility.
