I went into Ellaments last week because of the reviews and the price was pretty fair. I made an appt with Ernestina (I believe) and she was so nice and talkative and upbeat. Overall I was happy with the color BUT that was by mere CHANCE! I asked for red hair and I showed her 2 or 3 pictures of myself with my previous darker red hair and yes SNOOKI with her red hair. BOTH CLEARLY RED. I also said if it was possible I've been thinking of going light like Kim K. She told me it wouldn't be a problem but that it would take like 4 hours and it was already going to be 7 so I said I was okay with red since I was leaning towards both colors anyways. She showed me 2 colors she was going to mix in order to make the perfect red for me. As I know coloring can take time and I have A LOT of hair but it took NEARLY FOUR hours! I might as well have gotten the Kim K! I'm sitting there waiting, yawning, phone dying and finally she washed my hair but by that time I was so tired I just wanted to go home so I left with wet hair because I didn't even wanna wait for her to blow dry it and run the straightener through it. NOW, as I was waiting for her to wash out the dye I could see my roots had a red hue. Yay that's what I wanted right? Well when hair is wet it looks different-at least to me. After getting home and letting it dry for a couple of hours I went in the bathroom to check and my hair was damn near BLACK with like red highlights or something! I was LIVID! The ONLY reason I didn't call and ream her is because I ended up liking the way it reflects red in the light and has lightened some but it was NOT what I asked for. Idk if I'll go back to Ellaments because the ONE thing I can't stand is when salons look cheap and they have the cheapest, kitchiest "clothes" and "purses" and random stuff in the salon for sale. You can tell they went to Walmart and got some clothes and then upped the price. Like really?! You're a HAIR SALON not a store. The one last thing that knocks this place is the owner. She was certainly nice and outgoing as well but she is trying way too hard to be "youthful". Talking about being on a party bus in Vegas and how much she loves Kanye and she's gonna go to strip clubs with her son for his 21st in Vegas, etc. I just don't know if it is worth the repeat business.
