Westgate is a very sad excuse for an Entertainment District. Another prime example of how bad Glendale runs its city. This place could easily be a Mecca of dining and shops but instead it is a bunch of horrible chain restaurants (Kabuki, Margaritaville, Johnny Rockets), loserville bars (McFaddens, SaddleRanch, Hells Half Acre), and boring shops (Puma, Margaritaville again).
The highlights are Yardhouse and AMC.
I am just baffled they can't get a local restaurant in here like Matts Big Breakfast, Gallo Blanco, Los Dos Molinos, Delux, or anything semi decent that would draw a crowd. Another great option would be a local brewery. Maybe the city could reach out to AZ Wilderness, HUSS, Sleepy Dog, Barrio Brewing, SanTan, or any other local brew pub to get people in the area.
They are further downgrading it with outlet malls. Just what everyone wants. Lower quality, lower priced, junk straight from the factory. Beyond idiotic thinking. Leave the outlets to Anthem, Casa Grande, and other places in the middle of nowhere. This is a real city we are talking about here.
This is such a waste of business opportunities with the two sports stadiums bringing people in the area. Glendale get your crap together and elect some new representation that have a vision and can turn this potential gold mine around.
