To be honest this was disappointing. I purchased a groupon for a cut and highlights. It cost $54 with over a $100 value. When talking with the stylist Michael, he suggested doing dark low lights rather than highlights. I agreed since my hair was very damaged and that would make it look healthier. I asked for layers to lighten up my dense hair. He told me it was $20 extra because my hair was so thick. (I have a TON of hair so I get it) It took over 3 hours and by the end my hair was several inches shorter and basically all the same length. Barely any layers. I knew the cut wasn't what I wanted but he already had to cancel his next app because it took so long. I wasn't able to say anything because I didn't have time to stay longer. He styled it, and I walked away looking 10+ years older. After getting home and trying to fix the styling I noticed there were uneven pieces, and the cut looked choppy. I had to trim pieces and blend it myself.
He did a good job on the color, and my hair did look much healthier. I understand my hair isn't easy to work on, I have really fine hair but a TON of it. Plus it's damaged from bleaching it. Most of the stylists I have gone to haven't been able to understand it / cut it in a flattering way. I'll just have to keep looking.
I'm not super picky about my hair, but when I spend close to $100 and 3+ hours, my expectations are high.
