Dr. Zenner was my psychiatrist for nearly 10 years. Sometimes, he or his office staff could be frustrating with getting prescriptions filled or telling me I owe hundreds of dollars even though I paid my copay at every visit. And he did broach every conversation with a general topic so, since I'm a registered dietitian, he would ask me what I thought about vitamin D depletion on health, for example. I think he was genuinely curious to know my thoughts, but, I figured out, at the same time he was assessing my mood, speech, affect, pace, pitch, etc. And while I spoke, he would write his notes for our session, while still listening and responding to what I was saying. Sadly, Dr. Zenner (for medical reasons, I've inferred) is closing his practice. He hasn't been to work since October 2017, I believe ... maybe September. His office will formally close January 12, 2018. If you read this, Dr. Zenner, I'll miss you.
