As with all places of this nature it is very hard to make a review. It depends on the individual taste of the one writing the review. Let me try to explain my rating: Yuk Yuk's is stand-up comedy with food-service. You do not come here to have dinner so the quality of the food is only a side aspect. It is good but nothing special. The comedy however depends on each individuals taste and background. You basically have three kinds of comedy: * local jokes where you need to live here and know the history of the place * language jokes where it helps to be a native speaker * universal comedy - simple but effective We had three comedians this evening - one of each group. What I can not stand is making fun of minorities or dirty language jokesm, this is cheap. I prefer the intelligent fun without f*** in every second sentence. One of the acts was exactly this. Another act was concentrating on local jokes which is hard to follow if you just moved to Calgary two years ago. The main act however was awesome. Most of the jokes concentrated on daily-life situations, they were intelligent and no one was hurt ;) For me this evening was worth 3 stars. With different comedians may come different results.
