I've been going to European Wax Center for over 3 years and have frequented a few locations. I've had a love/hate relationship with this location for awhile but I can't give them up. Positives -Convenient location just off the US 60 in the Dana Park shopping center(which desperately needs to get rid of the brick "streets", whoever had that brilliant idea doesn't understand basic drainage issues, there are potholes everywhere.) -Super affordable and quick. I'll be in and out within 45 minutes usually. -5 out of 6 estheticians I've had are awesome. Good at their jobs and really nice. They are the reason I keep coming back. -Friendly front desk -Clean and comfortable treatment rooms. -Specialized hard wax. It's the least painful wax I've ever experienced. Not going to lie, getting waxed is no picnic. And I'm a huge baby when it comes to pain. But they do their best to talk you through the process every time and cater to your comfort. -Great referral incentives. $5 per person you refer. You may just have to remind them to credit you and/or use your credit toward a future balance. -Wax passes, buy so many and get one free sort of thing. Haven't tried it yet but seems like a good deal. Cons -Ridiculous turnover rate. Was seeing the same esthetician for over a year, then she went on maternity leave. She never came back and since then I have tried at least 5 other ladies. Most of the time I will be able to see someone new once or twice then when I call to book my next appointment they are "no longer with us." This happens within a month even. My best friend raved about the last person she saw so I inquired about her, "no longer with us". This seems like a corporate or management issue as my original lady commented that there would be some changes coming and sure enough they don't seem to be able to hold onto anyone great since. -Certain staff are only focused on getting you out quickly. I got burned pretty badly once because the esti had the wax turned up way too high. She commented that I was the first wax of her shift and they didn't have it ready for her when she came in. I offered to wait or move my appointment but she insisted it would be ok. It wasn't and as soon as the wax touched my skin I knew there was a problem. It took a month for my skin to be back to normal. I informed the front desk when I called to book my next appointment and barely got "oh that's too bad." And then asked if I wanted to book again with the same lady. No thanks. I can totally understand if it is someone's first visit and they have one of the inexperienced esthetician, they would not return for the great ones. This is why I try to find one person I really like and keep returning to them. The turnover is making this really hard and is the main reason I have a hard time staying a regular here. However, my last visit Jamie was my esthetician and she was absolutely phenomenal. I was ready to write off European Wax Center altogether because of the frustration of never being able to book with the same person. I will be returning now as long as I know I can see the same person or someone else she recommends. I hope the owners come to their senses soon and start doing what it takes to retain quality staff.
