This restaurant does not fail to impress from the get go: Private elevator to get up there which opens up to the kitchen... very cool touch. The overall restaurant is angled so that it provides a 270 degree view of the strip and surrounding area... very impressive and there's really not a bad seat in the house. We arrived and had a drink at the bar... the bartender was very friendly and set us back about $30 for drink and tip... but on the strip that's to be expected. Nice place to kill some time (and money) while you wait for a table... window side views must be requested at time of checkin, so id recommend getting here early if thats what youre looking for. The food: i ordered the roasted rack of lamb - done just right (at medium rare) and plated very elegantly (as one hopes/expects in a French restaurant of this caliber). The tomato tart was not especially memorable and felt more like a garnish than a side. The service was fine. Since the tables are close, I could tell our server basically had a script of things he said to each table which made him feel a little impersonal, but he was friendly and attentive. Maybe since this is a French place impersonal is what they are going for for authenticity? For the desert we ordered a chocolate souffle, as our waiter said these were "famous" at this restaurant. Maybe I'm not a souffle type guy, as to me it just kind of tasted of hot chocolate in a solid form - which i suppose is not a bad thing if you love hot chocolate. All in all, a great place and not 'hokey' at all despite it's location which was my worry. It's legit fine dining restaurant for sure, but for my money doesn't rank in the strip's top tier.
