If you're going to do a formal dance, you NEED to visit Kim at A Perfect Wedding Dance. I'm sure we've all been to weddings where you have to sit through at least three formal dances where the bride, groom, father of the bride and mother of the groom sway back and forth for three and a half minutes like they're at a middle school dance. Zzzz the "middle school sway" is boring for the couple and it's even more boring for the guests. Over the course of 14 -15 lessons (a little under $1k) Kim choreographed 4 different dances for us: Grand entrance: The Most Evolved by John Clarke. A formal entrance and dance moves to classical Spanish guitar. Took 1 dedicated lesson, with the end of class of our first dance also dedicated to learning this choreography. We did blocking for the dance in Texas at our venue and sent the measurements to Kim so that she could choreograph this despite her never visiting the space. First dance: One Dance by Drake, album version. Salsa / merengue / humorous choreography. Took 10 45-min lessons over the course of about three months. Kim filmed our lessons weekly so that we could practice at home. Father / Daughter: Unforgettable by Nat King Cole. Formal, ballroom position waltz. Did two 90 minute lessons with my dad when he was in town, and Kim recorded the lesson so my dad could practice on his own. Mother / Son: Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars - partial song. Humorous, copy cat style dance. Brian's mom lived out of state so the whole lesson was filmed and we sent the video to his mom to practice at home. Took one 90-minute lesson for Brian to learn and to film. Kim even let us in on a couples class so that we could practice our dance in front of an audience. She also taught us how to do dips for our first kiss so that I wouldn't tumble off of the stage and down the aisle. As you can see, we had Kim choreograph a variety of music genres and dance styles, and we had a ton of logistics involved for our destination wedding. Kim knocked it out of the park for us. She is so patient and cool, even if you're not an experienced dancer or if you have trouble counting, Kim will get you to where your guests would never know that you didn't dance regularly. If you're going to spend $30k, $40k+ on a wedding, you absolutely have no business doing the middle school sway at your wedding. If you're having a lower priced wedding, why not have your dance be the one real wow factor at your event? I loved going to class to practice. It was a fun thing to do and made our wedding more special. I definitely hope we can return for the couples classes once we're done with wedding bills! I highly recommend!
