Let me start this review out by saying that Toronto parking in general sucks, so the fact that you have a hell of a time finding a place to park reduced the star level on this review (although I was able to find out from the front desk staff about a parking garage on the odd side of the street across from 16 Glen Morris St. that is $7 CAD (about $5.25 USD at the time I stayed here)). I checked in at the front desk and since I had been assuming this was just going to be a hotel at the edge of campus, I was actually pretty pleased to note that it is an actual dormitory hall (William Doo Dormitories I believe is the name, and it is Co-Ed). It turns out that the University of Toronto (at least the St. George Campus) rents out unused dorm rooms in the summer, as hotel rooms. They are actual dorm rooms, so spartan living conditions (wardrobe with a room to hang a few clothes, drawers and a couple of shelves, a desk (with a phone that does not work), air conditioning and a bed (with built in drawers) are the norm. The mattress felt like about an inch thick piece of foam, but was surprisingly comfortable. The pillow was standard issue, and the towel was small enough to be a hand towel in some other hotels. The biggest drawback to the room for me, was the power supply placement. I have a CPAP machine for sleep apnea, and had to plug it into the wall above the desk, scoot the chair out to the center of the room and sit it on that to be able to use it. Not sure how modular these rooms are when there are students in them, but it didn't really feel like I should move it all around for my one night. Other than that, there is a communal kitchen on each floor, stairs and elevators, there is a security company that is responsible for anything at night, community showers and restrooms (same sex) and quite a few places that deliver. One of the best features for me was the access system. UofT apparently has invested in 21st Century technology as you now use an NFC keyfob for entry into the building, access to the elevator buttons and access to your room. All in all this was an easy in/easy out place to stay and if I ever go back to Toronto as just me again, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
