I would actually give it 3.5 stars. Room was nice, staff was friendly and helpful. The Northside restaurant and the sports bar were pretty good and reasonably priced if you stayed away from the drinks. The hotel is a very short and direct walk to Monorail. The constant disco-y Euro-pop in many of the public areas was kind of annoying. It was at the seedier end of the Strip, but I didn't find that to be a big deal, and at least it was as crowded as the areas by the main part of the strip. Mirror on the ceiling was amusing tacky!!! The pools tended to close early. I don't know if it was the time of year I was at the hotel (mid-March), or because they wanted people to go to the casinos instead. The room rate wasn't too bad. The concierge fee was a little bogus - they should just a rate for the room, rather than a room rate and some tack-on fees, which seems to be the airline model. Some of the other reviewers said the hotel was not up to par for a W Hotel. This is the first W Hotel I've stayed, so I can't judge.
