I came here as part of my relaxing self-care day. I got a pedi in the morning, followed by a facial, and then came on over here to get a foot massage. I was 5 minutes early to my appointment. Without any instruction, I am led into the room by the receptionist. Ok, I should actually start off my saying that for Yorkville I was expecting a better presentation. The outside door had salt stains all over... so anyway, I am led into this room. The receptionist did not offer to take my jacket, I ask where I can put it, because the way I came into the room I couldn't see the coat hook behind me, she yells "anywhere." I also feel like you should take your shoes off at the front... but I brought them in, and took them off. The room was very dark, a bit too dark. It was just a very unprofessional place for my standards. I was asked if I want water or green tea, and I felt that it was cheap/tacky to bring it to my in a styrofoam cup. I am not sure why you soak your feet in hot water before the treatment, it's not a pedicure. As for the massage, I specifically requested hard pressure in advance. The guy doing my massage spoke 3 words in English, and he told me he couldn't speak English. Fine, but some parts were good pressure, whereas others, like toes especially, I couldn't feel the pressure at all. At the end I asked some questions, and the receptionist couldn't really answer them for me... Atmosphere is super important to me, and this place has none. I'm surprised that when I google this place it comes up as 4.9 stars, perhaps many of the reviews are fake/friends of the owners. I was the only person in the spa the whole time. If it was that good, I would expect it to be busier. The massage wasn't bad... it's just that the lack of professionalism and atmosphere lacked and that is equally important to have a relaxing experience.
