Tasted summerlicious 2016 menu... First of all, the service at America really sucked. We were there on Tuesday night, the restaurant was only 1/3 filled, yet the service was extremely slow. We came in at 8:30 and left at 11, and that's after we "rushed" our waiter to get a dessert and bill. We constantly had to look and wait for the waiter. This guy was not attentive at all!! He did not care to ask if we (group of 6 girls) needed anything, did not propose crushed pepper with any meal, and did not care to ask how our dinner was. The food... The food was okay. Fried Chicken & Cornbread Waffle was not good. Manhattan Clam Chowder was okay. Cod Cake was good. Flat Iron Steak & Short Rib was pretty good. Strawberry Shortcake was too plain, nothing special at all. Brûlée au Bleu Benedictine sounded like a great dessert for those who like blue cheese but it was nothing enjoyable (no oomph). One of my girl friends mentioned that there were some flies on her main dish o_O. It was my second time here and I was not impressed. For those who think it is worth it because of 31st floor - no, its not worth that view. The view is not as nice as Canoe, or even Toula for ex. The dimmed pink-purple lights did not leave a good impression either.
