I've followed Stacy's work now for a while on Instagram and her art definitely speaks for itself. So when my wife was interested in her first tattoo, I told her we should check out Tattoo Me Charlotte. Stacy was booked out for a bit and she wanted her tattoo a little sooner, so we decided to book with Jamie.
No regrets. Jamie was super interested in exactly what she wanted and the specifics of it all. He took some time to sketch her design, discuss coloring, and iron out everything perfectly for her first tattoo. It came out great. It was a really cool experience, plus he had some entertaining stories to boot.
I had something in mind as well for myself that day (kind of), but we ended up evolving my idea quite a bit and decided to schedule a few days later to give it more time. I definitely felt like he was interested in coming up with something cool together.
As far as the shop goes, it's a really cool space. There's a huge window for plenty of sunlight and it seemed cleaner than other shops I've seen. After my appointment with Jamie I have another one further out with Stacy, and my wife already scheduled her second and third with Jamie. I definitely recommend the shop.
Update: I went back for my session with Jamie and it went really well. Super happy with what we came up with, even though it was an entirely new idea. Will return for sure.
Mega Update: Aaaand I just had my session with Stacy. What's there to say? Of course it was amazing. She's super accommodating... especially when I was going back and forth 15 times on the font... the final piece turned out fantastically. I've wanted my Thoreau quote and banner forever, but wanted the right artist to do it. Stacy turned out to be that artist. She's great at what she does and has a super awesome personality. Okay, last update. Just go schedule a session.
