WOMEN BEWARE. I had my first appointment at this clinic today and ended up leaving in tears. I went in simply because I was having menstrual irregularities and ended up being given a judgmental lecture about the importance of abstinence and "family planning," i.e. avoiding birth control at all costs. The PA began the appointment by kindly asking me about my reason for being there and listening to my sexual history, then dove into a rant about how the only healthy kind of intercourse is between a married man and woman. I was told some "scientific facts" used by the pro-life and anti-contraception movement and made to feel ashamed for ever using birth control. People have every right to be against the use of birth control and abortion, but medical professionals have a responsibility to be unbiased and forthcoming with their patients. I have never felt so disrespected by a doctor I trusted to help me with my health, and I think everyone working in this clinic should be ashamed of the morally reprehensible behavior I was shown today. Pro-choice women, avoid this clinic at all costs because you will be forced to listen to propaganda as if it is medically relevant. Pro-life women, please be careful because I know many of the "facts" I was told today are pseudo-scientific at best and could easily result in unplanned pregnancies. I wish I could give less than a single star and that all the medical professionals working here could lose their licenses as they deserve.
