The hardest part is narrowing down what to order!
Almost always have a wonderful experience and enjoy the adventurous Italian food that is rarely seen elsewhere in Madison. We've dined here at least 20 times in the past 5 years and will keep going back.
Service is almost always attentive but don't expect them to paw all over you either. Once 4 years ago or so- they lost my credit card after running it and basically said "it's gone" without much concern for the significant inconvenience this would create for me. I had to lean in and explain that I had entrusted them with my card and the agreement was that they swipe the card and return with my card (don't worry- they managed to run my card- they just couldn't keep track of it after they got payment!). My card eventually appeared and that was fortunately by far the most disappointing service experience. Servers are generally down to earth, friendly and almost always very knowledgeable about their menu.
I enjoy the smaller space- though I wouldn't describe it as "romantic.' I also probably would never go to a space deemed to be 'romantic' less I happen upon a couple proposing to one another
Several tasty speciality cocktails here- which are often changed- so if you love a particular drink- be sure to remember the name (they've always accommodated requests for restoring drinks for me).
With regards to food, my most recent experience last week didn't knock my sox off but I don't think this is representative of our general experiences.
We've certainly had 5 star experiences here.
TIP: Go on a weekday night to avoid a wait.
