I have had mostly mediocre to flat out terrifying experiences with dentists since I was little. Well, the Doc that Rocks did exactly what he said he was going to do and I had my first good experience at the dentist. Finding the door in was a little bit of a maze (it's cold in the January morning before the sun is up!), but immediately getting inside I brightened up. The receptionist was very friendly and attentive. I filled out the paperwork but couldn't help but sidetrack to looking around at all the memorabilia on the walls. They played classic rock through the office speakers - the ambiance reminded me of my dad growing up - so awesome! The dental hygienist showed me back for my cleaning. She was so sweet and very personable. She took x-rays and then they photographed my teeth (never seen a close up of my molars before. She cleaned my teeth and then the doctor came in to do "the check" on me. He noticed some problem spots in my teeth - then used this neat gadget to identify decay in a tooth. He showed me on the x-ray and pictures to back up his findings. So - my past issues have spawned from a couple fillings I have had and I was not able to numb up for the drilling. To say it was traumatic is an understatement. So when Dr. Cook told me I had to have a filling, I went into full tears and panic mode. He calmed me by telling me that he was so good at his job that everyone who has told him that same thing - he has been able to numb (with one exception but he said if I was that exception we would go with a new strategy from there). His confidence is exactly what I needed in a dentist. I came back a couple weeks later and had the fillings done. He kept his promise. I went numb and the fillings were done. I am so glad I found a dentist that can deliver on his promise and be as excellent as all the reviews I've read. He lives up to it and more. Best I've ever seen, truly cares about his patients, and add a wonderful staff and atmosphere - I found my new dentist!
