I reserved a car from Avis and the class was going to be a Cadillac ATS or equal to that. Upon arriving to the airport location Matthew greeted me and told me that it was my "lucky day" because they were out of the class that I reserved and that he was going to give me a Mercedes instead. I told him thank you and went on my way. A few weeks later I received notice that they charged me $235 for an upgrade fee. I contacted them to let them know of the mistake and they said that they will get it handled and get back to me. Over a week later I hadn't heard anything so I contacted them again. I spoke to James and he told me that I "accepted" the upgrade and they will keep the charge to me. It wasn't my fault that they ran our of the vehicle I requested. How could it be my "lucky day" if they planned on charging me?
