Just finished our anniversary dinner. Our main server was Miller- he was excellent at being condescending, and that's about it. My wife and I were treated like we were 16 at a prom dinner. Started with the irritation after we ordered oysters, he offered zero information about them so I asked our sever where are they from - his reply was "I am not sure... " and then told us where he thought they might be from but was annoyed at the question. Next up drinks, my wife ordered a white wine by the glass and they have two symbols, one a half full glass another a full glass. He informed me the full one obviously meant 9 oz. I asked for the beer list and he told me about the 3 choices on draft and then said and we have a ton of bottled beers and asked what I like, and I said pilsner or on the lighter side, after an awkward pause he offered no further explanation or choices do I asked about the bottles and said well those are Millers, bud, etc. it's hard to imagine a 4 dollar sign vegas restaurant only has bud and Miller. He then told us we need to order now because the food is made to order- we did upon his advise and we had our food within 10 min of ordering- the whole experience was 50 min total- for once we were not trying to eat fast and wanted to sit and enjoy a long meal. The last straw was when trying to order a salad, I ordered barramundi entree and he said how about a salad with that so I said sure what are my options- he plopped the menu on my plate and pointed to the salad category. In general the attitude was unappreciated from a higher end restaurant. The replacement server was excellent and we had no further dealings with Miller for the rest of the night. Food was fairly tasty but there are countless other alternatives. We have tried the next door restaurant delmonicos and Le cirque and liked both much better.
Update: the general manager of the restaurant reached out to apologize and ask for a second chance- I am impressed to the attention to postings and while I was not intending to gain anything I appreciate the offer to have my wife and return. At least they care enough to reach out.
