So it's my birthday and I'll have cake if I want to cake if I want. You can have cake too if it was you too! Ok enough cheesiness. So it is actually my birthday and the hubby takes me out to a new place for cakes and macaroons. We both ordered the Matchamochino, which unfortunately wasn't hot just warm. I had the strawberry shortcake which was like eating sweet fluffy clouds with bits of strawberries. Not too sweet so that you're drowning in it but floating on that lovely cloud. The hubby had the montblanc in a cup. Interesting as we've never seen it served that way. It was like a tiramisu with a cake layer on the bottom custard cream in the centre and topped with chestnut purée. Another not overly sweet confection yet amazingly delicious. Being an absolute lover of all things macaroons I had to try some. For fair comparison I ordered some of what I usually get. Earl grey, Matcha Green tea and Yuzu. The flavours burst out and scream "I'm fresh!" So incredibly aromatic. Only complaint was the Yuzu was a bit lighter in its flavour thus letting the chocolate filling over power the Yuzu flavour. Like a few have commented, there's not a lot of selections, but a good place doesn't have to have 101 menu items.
