Watched the Hip Hop Nutcracker here over the holidays and the more I go to theatrical productions, the more I think there needs to be a thespian badge. Wonder if this counts for the art badges???..... Anyhow, I was meeting a friend here, who advised me to go in through the Blumenthal entrance. But for the staff, I would have never found Booth. If you've been in there, it's at the top of the escalators to the right. I suppose I've never noticed it because no one is there during normal work hours. The space is quite intimate, but acoustics are fine and all of the seats are good. I was on the side and had to lean over to see things that were taking place adjacent to me on stage right. While I'm not sure if it was this production specifically or the general capability of the theatre, but don't expect a full blown production with moving screens sliding stages, trap doors, disappearing acts, etc. I think it's equipped for a single background and good old fashion acting. I'm always impressed with the ushers and their knowledge. They're always friendly and tend to be of the baby boomer generation - not sure why. That being said, they do a great job. I recommend that you attend a show here as soon as you can and support the arts. In a year's time, there's something for everyone.
