This museum is worth going out of your way for! We were so impressed and really pleasantly surprised by the extensive collection of artifacts and exhibits dedicated to the development of language all around the world from the mainstream Roman alphabet we use here in the US to the obscure whistling and clicking of tribal people in Mexico and Ghana, respectively. They've got interactive exhibits (stamp out your name in hieroglyphics!) and even some cool hands on stuff for the kiddos. Expect to spend about an hr. wandering through this place and do spend the 10 min. to watch the film at the start of your tour. Our docent Elizabeth was lovely - her knowledge, enthusiasm, and patience with young children are first rate. Fix your hair before you go...this place is actually loaded with unexpected fun photo-ops :)
