We visited here on a Saturday night in February at about 10pm after having an uneventful dinner nearby. Mainly we were seeking dessert. Both my boyfriend and I are not particularly fond of 'pubs' but this place was fine. We got a comfortable booth/table in the back room with the bar and positioned ourselves to face the live music, which was a guy playing covers on his guitar. The back room was pretty full - friends grabbing dinner, a lovey-dovey couple at the bar, two German guys drinking beer and watching hockey...
Dessert menu had some good sounding options including a cheesecake with a creme brulee topping that we ALMOST ordered. Instead we got a brownie sundae of sorts, with caramelized bananas. It was a disappointment, especially for $6.95. The pulverized bananas had no taste and we barely got a half scoop of ice cream. The service was polite, but absent. We sat with empty glasses and plate for EVER. Granted we were relaxed but still. Finally we asked for our check - twice - and left.
As for drinks - definitely not a wine place. Waiter said they had one red and one white. Beers were written on a chalk board on the wall. I had water (thought it'd be best with brownie & ice cream.) It was a friendly inviting place to come in from out of the cold, and the live music made us feel like we were "out" on a Saturday night, but I'll always remember our sundae sucked.
