I took my mom to Banner Baywood for a scheduled test. Never fun. But the staff at outpatient check-in were very friendly. My only thing was the distance to the imaging reception. They expected my mom to walk that far from outpatient, and didn't offer wheelchair transport. I was going to hijack a chair and do it myself, but mom wanted to try and walk it. More for pride, I'm pretty sure. She made it though. Imaging reception was fine. Clean and the staff friendly. But nothing can compare to the actual imaging and procedural staff. JOEL was our nurse (or tech, what-have-you), and he was beyond. He was super friendly, and put my mom at ease, joking and laughing with her, and listening to her stories. By the time we left, he was like a family member. He was really great, and I hope that others in his department, and throughout the hospital, read this and emulate his caring, compassion and bedside manner. The other staff was great as well, and I feel as though they took great care of the momasan. Now cross those digits for good results!
