There are quite a few things to do in Vegas when you're visiting and you want a diversion away from the Strip. This is one of them.
You won't go wrong spending a couple of hours in this fantastic museum. Before arriving, do yourself a favor and check Groupon for discount ticket prices. You can even do it using the Groupon app just as you park in their lot (plenty of spots). When you walk in (there's a rest room in the lobby if you need it) and head over to the ticket counter, just show the friendly staff member your Groupon on your phone and boom, you're done. Easy.
The museum is self guided with lots of displays, short films, interactive areas and plenty to read. You'll be stepping back in history to a time when it was okay to detonate thermonuclear devices out in the Nevada dessert while people gamble and watch the giant mushroom cloud in the distant sky.
Well worth the price of admission, it's a great way to beat the heat and get away from the crowds.
