This was the nicest Hampton room I've ever stayed in (my room # was 214). I travel on business and have stayed in numerous Hampton Inns around the country. I even lived in one for 30 days. I was wowed with this one, though. Very thoughtfully laid out, with a huge room.
When I say "thoughtfully laid out," I mean someone really spent time thinking about how they could take design the room to provide the things a guest would care about. A simple example that struck me from the moment I first unlocked the door (other examples are below) was that there are two peepholes - one at the height that you normally see them and one about half-way down the door - perfect for a kid to look and see if it is his parent knocking.
There are two separate rooms divided by a middle section where a large closet and very nice bathroom are. The bedroom on one side has a comfortable King Bed. There is a nice chaise and a portable computer stand that can slide under the chaise or under the bed so you can do your work reclined on either. The room has an adequate basic desk, a nice dresser with a large TV and lamp, and another basic desk/table on the other side. There are 2 lamps on two night stands. A couple's Jacuzzi tub with large mirrors on both sides is in the corner of the bedroom (there's plenty of space, so this isn't in the way). The lighting throughout is exceptional... poor lighting in hotels irritates me. There are plenty of well-positioned electrical outlets throughout, and the outlets all have USB ports as well! Finally... and this matters a lot to me ... the layout of the room allowed me to pull the TV beside the desk, plug my HDMI cable into the TV and my laptop, and do my work on its large screen rather than my tiny laptop screen (bring your own cable of course)! In no other hotel room I've been in has this been made convenient!
And all of the above just the bedroom!
The closet between the main rooms is large and attractive with a fully mirrored sliding door that serves both as a closet door and a bathroom door. The bathroom isn't particularly special, but it is very nice with plenty of room for 2 people to get ready together.
The second main room is only a little smaller than the bedroom. It has a second large TV on what might be considered a chest of drawers plus a kitchenette area with small fridge, microwave, and nice sink. And again, plenty of lighting and electrical outlets with USB ports too. And then there's a 2-cushion sofa that pulls out for another bed if you need it! There are adequate lamps and a large wall mirror in that room just as in the rest. Both main rooms have large windows for plenty of sunlight.
If there is one thing I didn't care as much for, it was the parking. It's a 5-level parking garage, and driving through it isn't easy. The lanes are narrow, the curves are sharp, and there is inadequate signage so it's confusing the first time you drive through it. But after 1 day I was used to all it and it no longer bothered me. You pay $15/day for parking. They also have valets available for $20/day. But these things I didn't like are simply necessary for a hotel in the middle of town, so I can't fault the hotel for them. And to me they are very, very minor.
All in all, I think this is an exceptional Hampton hotel room at a very fair price. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
