Where do I begin? This place is so unique, there really isn't anything like it in the Phoenix area. The speak-easy feel reminded me of being back home in Portland, OR. I was visiting friends in Arizona when someone suggested this place. It was so fun trying to find the hidden door and discovering the dimly-lit, well stocked bar and getting to know the resident ostrich in all of his/her glory. I mean c'mon, a taxidermy ostrich? Yes, please. The bartenders definitely knew what they were doing because our drinks were crafted to perfection. My husband is super picky about his old fashions (he likes the big ice cubes) and sure enough, they had the big ice cubes and the drink was delicious. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I told the bartender what I like and I was impressed by his eagerness to make me something good (most bartenders would just blow me off and give me a half-assed fruity drink). The ambiance is perfect for a date night or just to get away from the monotony of your typical Scottsdale bar. You really do feel like you're in a different world. I would definitely recommend this place!
