This place gets 3-3.5 stars. I have had good food here, and I'd probably come back. When I visited with a friend, we shared a chocolate egg cream ($2.50), which my Jewish grandmother is always talking about. I'd never experienced one of these before, and it's pretty weird. Like a chocolate milk soda...not bad but this has got to be an acquired taste. We got the latkes ($4.99), which were very good, but in true Jew form I have to say they're not as good as my family's. They are crispy potato pancakes, served with applesauce if you ask, and sour cream otherwise. We shared a platter of their hand carved roast turkey ($9.99), which was very moist and tasty. Honestly, there wasn't anything here that was life changing, but at the same time, it DID bring back happy memories of childhood Jewish holiday dinners. If you're here in Pittsburgh away from your family, and you miss your Bubbe's cooking, this would be a good place to go for a heaping helping of nostalgia. It's not the best restaurant in the 'Burgh, but if you desire true-blue-Jew-food...this is your place! I'd probably be back to try their brunch, as I can't resist a lox & latke eggs benedict!
