Living downtown and having a walking distance brewery like Portside is a godsend. I've been here many times for a drink (or two or three or four or five..you get the picture) and am always treated with fast, friendly service from all the bartenders. While I enjoy many of the beers on the menu, the 'Juicy Double IPA' really stands out as exceptional. If you are a fan of a dank IPA with a lot of tropical flavors like pineapple/mango, this is the beer for you! It's also incredibly sessionable, dangerously so, given an abv of ~9%. The brewers are constantly adding new beers to the menu, so check the website ahead of time if looking for something in particular or just go and understand you are sure to like something on the extensive beer list. There is minimal food on the menu so I would not go here if you are starving for a full meal. That being said, they have some lighter options and a few sandwiches. I do enjoy their meat and cheese board - especially the brie. There are also rum options for non-beer drinkers. I'm not an avid rum drinker myself but had a rum cocktail during christmas time that tasted like christmas in a glass (apple cider spiked with spiced rum).
