I would like to update my previous review. Mayo Clinic (which has their own on site hand clinic) is going to be doing a tendon transplant to repair my finger which was left at a 90 degree angle and useless after Dr. Fitzmaurice did the non-invasive surgery. (I was told by the assistant who saw me for my final follow up that Dr. Fitzmaurice only does non-invasive work and I would need to find a surgeon who could do more.) What really makes me shake my head is that his charges were almost $30,000 for my non-invasive surgery (without general anesthesia). Yes, 30K and I saw him once -- for the surgery. Of course there were insurance adjustments, and my insurance picked up some but I was left with hundreds out of my own pocket and left with a useless finger that I am having to go through more surgery this summer. Very upsetting. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Get second opinions and get a clear understanding of the cost involved in your non-invasive surgery.
