In the doughnut community there are two types of people, those who prefer cake and those who prefer yeast. If you are in the second group, then Glory Hole is for you. We came last Saturday and they had about 4 different flavour options. Of course i had to have the Elvis which had peanut butter, bacon, and a homemade toasted marshmallow. Now this doughnut was four dollars but the amount of work that goes into one doughnut is impressive. The best part is the toasted marshmallow, it was torched and it tasted so deliciously smokey. The actual doughnut minus all of the toppings is great, it had great texture, and a neutral flavour which creates a perfect base for all of the toppings. We also had the maple doughnut and it was awesome. My one compliant was that the maple was only 50 cents cheaper and it was simply a glazed doughnut versus all of the steps it took to construct the Elvis, i think it should have been a bit less expensive. Overall, it does take a bit to venture out to the shop on Queen west, but the service is very warm, and the product is solid, i will definitely be back.
