What is wrong with our community colleges? I just gave SCC five stars. That's proof that higher education is broken. I'll explain why. I needed to take one final class to graduate. This class is known to be insanely time consuming and difficult throughout a semester at ASU. My friends sat through every lecture, took notes like crazy, and read the textbook from front to back. They passed with B's. Why would I want to suffer like them? So I took the class at SCC during the summer. It was an accelerated 5 week course. It required 4 assignments and a project. I only read 8 pages from my textbook during those 5 weeks and I got an A on every assignment. I put in a maximum of 10 hours for the entire course. My friends put in +10 hours to study for one exam and I put in 10 hours to pass an entire course at SCC. So I thank SCC and instructor for having low standards and easy assignments. I gave SCC five stars because it made my summer vacation more enjoyable as I was able to spend less time on my education and learning.
