UPDATE:. After all the headache detailed below, I did finally speak with an individual who was able to fix my membership quickly and efficiently. Finally someone who knew what they were doing! And then I received a call from a supervisor or manager, who had read my post here and reviewed all of my calls to customer service. She listened to my complaint again and also compensated us for all the trouble. I do appreciate when a company is willing to reach out and try to make things right so I have changed my rating from a 1 to a 3. I do believe they need to better train some of their employees so hopefully this type of situation can be avoided in the future. END OF UPDATE
This review is not about a particular location, but about AAA Arizona member services.
I had been a AAA member since 1996. Yes, 20 years! Those 20 years were with AAA Southern New England. When we moved to Arizona in May, I contacted AAA about transferring my membership. Ended up having to call 2 different numbers and talked to 3 different people. I was assured it would be no problem, although i couldn't exactly transfer it. I had to give them all my info again for them to set up the AZ membership. So I did, including my credit card info for the automatic renewal. I explained that my current membership was set to end June 30. No problem, I was told. The AZ membership would take over then. I get temp membership cards emailed to me. I email back because the dates make no sense. No response. Then I get a bill in the mail, which makes no sense because it's telling me to pay by a date 3 weeks prior. I go online and I see it says auto renewal. I call again. Yep, you're all set. You can ignore that bill. Your payment will be charged to your card on July 1. Get another bill a few weeks later. Still dates make no sense. I call again, and told the same thing. Ignore the bill. Your cc will be billed July 1 and then your new cards will be sent. You should get them 3rd week of July. I ask...even though they'll be effective July 1, I won't have. Yes, but it's no problem, they can just look up your membership to verify it. Well now it's July 30 and still no cards. So I try to log in and check my membership. My membership number is no longer valid! WTF!!!! Checked my credit card statement, and I guess the bright spot is no charge either so at least I'm not paying for nothing. But WTF!!!! On Monday, I will be going to the local office and speaking with w human being face-to-face. And depending on the service I get here will determine if I renew my membership. 20 years! 5 phone calls and not a single person seems to know what they're doing because after 20 years, my membership that I was assured had been transferred, has actually been cancelled.
