I bought a Groupon for afternoon tea at SugarTiers. The atmosphere is great and you can tell they are amazing bakers and can create great cakes. But you also immediately know that they're not very good at customer service, and that the bakery isn't made for dining-in. The washroom was at the back with the kitchen and cleaning equipment. The young lady who was waitressing was very passive. The owners weren't making much effort to greet us andto encourage us to return. It seemed like "oh they're another Groupon customer... lets get this over with" attitude. But the selection of pastries and desserts weren't bad. Its catered toward more of an Asian audience, which I liked. They were delicious. But the tea itself was sub par. They served generic tea bags and the water wasn't hot (the girl served it using one of those Chinese water containers). I would consider buying a cake from these guys, but not afternoon tea. It seemed like the afternoon tea was a recently added-on service to make some extra money and an after-thought.
