Just took my miniature schnauzer puppy to Whiskers today for her first professional haircut. Now, I know why they have 5 stars.
Truffles is a 15 week old puppy and loves to bite, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked her up. I had groomed and bathed her myself before, so I knew what kind of a hard time she would give the groomer. I asked that they not use any perfumes or powders on her because of my allergies. When I picked her up, she was sitting in the store front window looking like an angel. I was extremely pleased with the haircut and cute little bandanna she was wearing. They did as I asked and did not put any perfume on her, which I really appreciate.
I had a good first experience, but have to mention a couple of things that could be improved upon for my next visit. When we arrived to drop Truffles off for the first time, the lady helping us was making phone calls while we were standing there waiting. Then when I picked Truffles up, the same person said "he" was great, when I asked how "she" did. I'm guessing they were really busy, but the small details make a big difference. My suggestion is to be a little more attentive to the customer standing in front of you and know the sex of the dog when you make reference to him or her.
I definitely recommend Whiskers Dog Spa. The price is a little more than Petsmart, but definitely worth it.
