I was invited by some friends to go to Charlie's drag show on Sunday. After reading the reviews, I was nervous to go! I almost backed out, but I am really glad I didn't. The *only* reason I don't give Charlie's 5 stars is because it is a little dirty (but it IS a bar geared toward a younger, college-age demographic, so as a recently graduated student, I felt right at home) and the drag show was so-so. Most of the drag-show consisted of the MC rambling on and on about nonsense. Anyway, the drinks are reasonably priced (although the pricing is inconsistent, we ordered the same drinks throughout the night and they were different depending on which bartender served us - but they were never too expensive). Contrary to many of these reviews, my experience with the bartenders was positive. They were friendly, responsive, and didn't seem to favor certain patrons over others. The music was fun, the drag queens were funny and approachable, and I really had a good time. Don't let these petty reviews scare you off!
