I've eaten at Marty's three times in the last year and each time has been an increasingly terrible experience. I really appreciate what they are trying to do (or what it seems to me they are trying to do): offer a modern, edgy twist on the more traditional breakfast spots/diners in The Strip. But to DO that and to do that WELL, service has GOT to be better. It has always seemed to me that the staff are poorly trained and exhibit the worst possible "I'm-a-cool-hipster-and-thus-will-get-to-you-when-I-get-to-you" vibe that I've ever seen. The place has obvious potential and I want to like it but they've got a loooong way to go to beat the friendly efficiency of DeLucas, Pamela's, or Kelly O's. And the food? Meh. While it's compellingly different, culinarily it leaves me cold. Be better, guys! Update: just read in the paper that this place has closed. I hate to see new and interesting businesses flounder, but this one never got it together for me. I wish the ownership had paid more attention to the negative reviews, all of which called attention to the same lack of service ethic. Oh well, here's hoping a really great new place snags the spot!
