Both my wife and I have been diving with Rick (multiple times), used his shop for service and received our advanced open water training/certification from him.
I have to disagree with the other review that gave Rick 1-star. I am a picky engineer, I found nothing lacking with his services and per my observation on dive trips, he is very concerned about quality, safety and attentive to all to ensure a positive experience. I don't know if he still catches fresh fish on the San Carlos trips, that his crew then cleans and cooks for your lunch, but that was a real treat!
If I was to go to San Carlos again, I would be going with Rick. I would also not hesitate to recommend him for gear, training or service/repairs.
