The Cupcakery popped up along the St. Clair & Oakwood strip a few years ago and stood out with its cute awning and window displays. They do their cupcakes very well. The cake is springy, there is just the right ratio of icing to cake and the icing is not too sweet or unctuous. On any given day they will have six flavours on display of which two will always be some sort of vanilla and some sort of chocolate. The colour of the icing will vary so you have to read the labels. Each cupcake is $2.50 or you can treat yourself to a six-pack for $13. I can't give them more stars because I always feel like I'm interrupting a conversation when I go in there. I'm not expecting McService, or looking for chit-chat, but cupcakes are an indulgence and I don't want to leave thinking that I could have better spent my $13 on essentials like a pack of diapers and a loaf of bread.
