We feel lucky to have a nice, casual, non-chain restaurant like BLD in our area! We have been there for B, L and D :), and have never had a bad meal or a bad experience.
The atmosphere is perfect - very nice, clean and unique. I feel like I could sneak in there for breakfast in yoga pants or come a bit dressed up for date night with my husband and never feel out of place. I keep meaning to come here to hang out at the bar for a happy hour or girl's night as well!
I have made a point to try a lot of things on the menu, and I have never been disappointed. Their wine list is good, coffee is excellent and the portions are generous.
I think it is very difficult to successfully combine, in one restaurant, all three meals, a bar, a dog-friendly patio, a date place, a family place, etc. - and BLD seems to do that seamlessly! I can't think of an occasion that this restaurant wouldn't be a good choice.
If it tells you anything, I can rarely get my husband excited to go sit down somewhere for dinner - but he will often proactively suggest we go to BLD!
