I'm over Costco, $600 worth of merchandise in my cart. My membership expired 8 days ago. They denied my transaction unless I paid the $55.00 membership right there. My work owns the account and work wasn't there to renew.
Really should have let me make the one transaction. Now I've decided to never renew the membership and my work to not renew it.
6 years as a Costco customer, drive 25 miles to the store and this is the treatment I get.
I debated paying the membership and then asking my employer reimburse but it's the principle it was only a few days past due they could have let the transaction go through and then I could have renewed the next time.
I know rules are rules but as a long-term member I think they could have let me renew next time. Sometimes a slight bend in rules makes sense when all sides benefit.
