This review is long overdue. While traveling across country with my Husband and two dogs we decided to stay at La Quinta's on our journey. We first stayed at the El Paso location. It was fine. Old but, clean. And at $59 a night, no complaints here. The Scottsdale location is another story-horrendous experience. We had decided to leave the hotel to run out and get some food. Big mistake! Apparently one of our dogs was "howling". Now, I get it I wouldn't want to be relaxing in a room and hear someone else's dog barking all night. We were called to tell us that our dog was barking and we needed to return. Which we did immediately. Unfortunately we were 10 minutes away already. We were called 3 times in the 10 minute span. When we arrived at the room some front desk woman was sliding her key in the lock. Excuse me?? What part of I was on my way back did you not understand? Did I forget to mention that I have a pit bull and a German shepherd? If you want to enter unannounced than be my guest. Anyways she was so rude to me and told me that I needed to speak with a manager immediately. So let me get this straight-you want me to come get my dogs immediately but you've locked me out of my room? The "manager" was a jerk too. He was wearing a ratty tshirt and jeans and wanted to let me know that they've given two rooms away for free b/c of my dogs? Seriously? I find that hard to believe since from the time we left to the time we got back it had been 23 minutes and we were called 4 times. If you had known how to run a hotel properly you could've kindly informed the guests that the owners had been called and were on their way back. Anyways my point is I'm a guest too! What about the $225 we spent that night? I'm treated like a second class citizen because I have dogs. I totally respect other people. I'm not mad at them for complaining but the hotel needs a little training on treating people equally. Here's a tip-ALL dogs should be on one floor that way no one complains most likely!! I'll never frequent a La Quinta again. Most of them are dumps anyways.
