I stopped in while exploring Notre-Dame St primarily to use the restroom [sorry Starbucks] but was enticed by the smart design and newish feel of the place to stay and enjoy a drink too. This is clearly one of the nicer Starbucks in and around Montreal and one of its newer outposts. The floors are cement, the ceilings high and the furniture is comfortable and contemporary. All in all, it was a relaxing experience and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Beyond that, it's pretty much the Starbucks experience as we've come to know and love it. The coffee is good, the prices reasonable and I managed to snag one of the new limited-edition Canada Starbucks cards which makes a nice addition to my burgeoning collection of Starbucks ephemera. Not to sound like a rube, but I also check out local coffee joints as well and did on this trip too. Check out my review of Cafe Olimpico in the Mile End neighborhood - about as far as you can get from the Starbucks experience but a very positive one at that.
