I don't love pretentious places but I can handle it if it's backed up some serious skills. Every time I have gone to 21st St Coffee, I've always been put off by the staff and most recently, was not even impressed by the coffee (which, given how amazing Intelligentsia is, is really disappointing). You can get a tremendous pour-over at Commonplace Voluto or a dynamite italian-style espresso at La Prima around the corner. In a city filled with great coffee options, there's literally no reason to go here.
