You know, I actually wasn't going to review because the owner and person who tried to fix my hair were so nice on my second visit, but after reading my journal entry about the experience I decided that people deserved to hear about how absolutely disgusted I was at being treated so badly. I went to Studio Raw and got my hair done by Hannah. I asked for auburn and a streak of magenta that could be hidden. She convinced me that it would be nice to maybe add some more reddish purple to the brown and I said that it would be a welcome idea so long as it wouldn't be too bold because I go to university and can't wear anything too crazy (Hence the reason why the magenta can be easily folded into my hair and hidden). My hair was also very light (a level 8) and I didn't want to go too dark either. She consulted with the owner and we came to a nice agreement. Before she did my hair she showed me several pictures of what it would look like and I reiterated my concerns on not wanting a color too crazy and it not being dark. Turns out, she just did whatever she wanted and turned my hair into a DARK (nearly black level 2) purple color. At least the magenta was nice & could be hidden. As soon as she began to dry my hair I said "It's purple. It's dark dark purple" which is NOTHING like the pictures she had shown me. Hannah began to act like a petulant child as if I was the one who had asked for this (even though she physically showed me pictures on her phone. The color was absolutely nothing like what we had discussed. NOTHING). and got the manager (Elaine--edit:other negative reviews complain about a "Lorraine" so this is likely the same person) who began to tell me to just go home and wear it for a few days to see if I liked it. They said "oh, it's just the light in here!" and "It's very different, but it looks so nice on you!" and "well, the shock of going from a color so light to a color that dark may just be why you think it's not right". Absolutely horrible. They made me feel bad about complaining, like I didn't deserve to get what I asked for which is just horribe looking back. Hannah lied about showing me pictures and said that it was what I wanted even though I had asked before every application of color to make sure that we were on the same page. Hannah is a liar and Elaine didn't help the situation by trying to convince me that I liked a color that I didn't ask for and was nothing whatsoever like the color that I wanted. Hannah acted like a spoiled brat and shut down after I expressed how botched this dye job was and then accused me of stealing her phone after I walked to the register before stomping off and disappearing. Yes, it gets worse. I came in the next day to schedule an appointment and the guy I was with told me that Elaine was giving me dirty looks when my back was turned as I complained about how Hannah had ruined my hair then called me a thief. I'm still shocked that someone who I paid to do a service would accuse me of being so low as to need to steal a phone. I only brought a book with me! Where was I going to hide it!? Omg. Now, Chris attempted to fix my hair, and he did a relatively good job, but there's still spots of that ugly purple-black color throughout my hair and streaks of white where he had to bleach out the ugly purple. I would probably recommend Chris because he had a lot to work with and he was very nice. The owner is also very nice and I think that if I hadn't scheduled with Hannah that my experience would have been MUCH better. My advice: go to Philip Pelusi. They've never accused me of stealing from them and they don't treat you like crap if you complain that you didn't get the right color. The place is beautiful and the people are nice but getting your hair done right is the point of going. Not having to go over and over again because the first person who did your hair screwed up the mix then tried to convince you that you liked it. This entire situation was ridiculous. Update: The owner sent my ex-boyfriend an email saying"From one business owner to another" with this review. I suppose he thought tattling on me would make me take it down? Well, no. First off, he does not have the power/right to tell me what to do with my freedom of speech (the owner doesn't either). Secondly, it was MY hard earned money, so yes, I'm going to leave this right here because the work was awful and I gave an honest review. Thirdly, he didn't have anything to do with this so if his job was cancelled by this review (which I suspect it was, but don't have proof except that it was cancelled shortly after the owner sent him this review) then that just looks bad on the owner for being petty. And btw, he just drove me there, so I'm not sure what you thought he was going to do about it. So in conclusion ladies, not only was my hair messed up, but the owner might be a misogynist who thinks my ex boyfriend owns me :/. So I guess, once more with feeling: BEWARE.
