Popo's comes in at a close second to my favorite Mexican food eatery in Phoenix (La Piñata is first!). This location is also "known" for having better food then the on me on 59th ave but they are both very good to me! The salsa is fresh and warm chips and the retried beans are the BEST! I usually skip the beans, but not at Popo's!! I ordered a machaca beef taco and the shredded chicken burro with jalapeño cream cheese. Always one of my favorite Mexican meals. It's spicy but so good! The meals are huge so be prepared to take home leftovers but it reheats nicely. The service was very friendly and quick and it is always busy there with about a 15-30 minute wait if you go at dinner time, any day of the week. My friend ordered the fajitas which is her favorite as well. They come out hot and sizzling with all the sides. Stay away from chain Mexican places and hit up Popo's if you want some REAL Mexican food.
