I have never posted a review of a hair salon before, but I feel compelled to do so for SFM Lifestyle Salon. This was, quite simply, the worst salon experience I have ever encountered. I will give SFM one star, because their reception area is quite lovely, but that is where my good reivew ends. I made my appointment a month in advance, the day before leaving on vacation (in retrospect, a very bad idea). I took time off work specifically for this appointment; I was very excited to try this beautiful salon out. When I arrived, I approached the reception desk to let them know I had arrived for my appointment. I stood there for a few minutes, waiting, while the receptionist and another staff member talked to each other and ignored me. When they could finally pull themselves away from their conversation, I explained who I was and who I was there to see. I was told that the stylist I had been booked with went home sick. I understand these things happen, and that's fine...but I take issue with being lied to. I was told that he called me and left a message explaining the situation. I had my phone in my hand and I had definitely not received any message of the sort. They told me I could re-book my appointment or have another stylist do my hair. I wanted to have my hair done before leaving on vacation, and since I had already taken the time off work, I agreed to let the other stylist do my hair. All I wanted was a cut - nothing drastic, and a color. Simple, right? How wrong I was. I would go into detail about how horrible the cut and color turned out, but I will spare you. Suffice it to say, my haircut was uneven and the hair color was shockingly bad. I explained in explicit terms what I wanted to my stylist, and was delivered the exact opposite. Also, the stylist did not even properly rinse the dye out, and left a lot of it on my skin and around my hairline. I am not a stylist, but even I know to not leave hair dye on a client's skin, and to make sure their hair is same length on each side of their head. Their customer service is terrible and the quality of service I received was just as bad, if not worse. If my experience is any indication, this place will be gone in a year's time. Spare yourself the trauma and look elsewhere for a great hair salon experience.
