A disappointing, inconsistent mix of very good and not so good. Lovely omelette, nice salad, terrible French toast, and signs of corner-cutting. Every bar and bistro in France has lovely orange pressé -- what in Canada we call freshly pressed or freshly squeezed orange juice. Le Papillon insults its customers by serving up bottled juice and garnishing its French toast and other things with fake 'whipped cream'. I haven't tried the onion soup or crêpes, but suspect they're on the menu's better side. I did try the 'famous' dessert and found it cloyingly sweet and the caramel topping devoid of the expected taste of butter.
On the hottest days of summer, they were offering hot broccoli soup, while I was craving (and expecting) a lovely, icy vichyssoise.
