I frequented Sambalatte regularly, when they first opened and the food quality/service WAS stellar. After a few scattered lackluster experiences over the past year, I agree with earlier reviews that their level of quality has plummeted. I stopped by today and ordered a regular tea (tea bag)...I was told that they did not serve tea (????). Excuse me??? A coffee house that does not serve tea? I believe that the cashier (who was incredibly rude and irritated) had no idea what a tea bag (or loose leaf) was, as I've placed this order without issue dozens of times in the past. So, I calmly settled on a latte. Upon the cashiers final insistence (he interrupted me before I finished my order) as to whether or not my order was "for here or to go"...I walked out. The level of service and quality (the pastries in the display unit appear shiny, plastic, "fake" and unappealing) do not meet the bourgeois airs that it's employees take on.
