I have made reservation at the Westin Charlotte on 3/24/2017, arriving at 12:30 am, early morning of 3/25/2017 & I leaving the hotel at 10:30 am in the morning of 3/25/2017. Just to be clear, I've self-parked my car at the hotel's parking garage. The cost per night of parking is declared as $20 per night. Guess what I've been charged when I was leaving at the gate after 10.5 hours of staying at the hotel? $40! When I asked the "gate keeper" why am I being charged $40, instead of what's listed as $20/overnight parking? She replied that the clock for parking resets at 5 AM. Which means, if you arrive at noon on any given day and park your car, and if you leave on the next day at 9 am, you'll be charged for 2 days of parking! If you ask why, bc noon time coincides to be before 5 am next day, and leaving 9 am on the next day is after 5 am & that makes 2 days. If you want to stay at this hotel & avoid being charged for 2 days of parking charges, you must leave the hotel & parking garage, before 5 am! Does that make any sense to anyone? Or is this a perfect example of day time robbery! A perfect scheme of screwing every customer that stays at Westin hotel! They need to be stopped for such a shameless business practice! I can only imagine a good lawyer could make a great income on such systematically, scandalous business practice! I absolutely do not recommend this hotel! They should be boycotted, until they change such unfair business practice!
